A plane was forced to make an emergency landing due to a controversial WiFi network name.
The Airbus A321, carrying 148 passengers and seven crew members, was directed to land at El Prat Airport in Barcelona, Spain, last week.
“The incident occurred as Turkish Airlines flight TK1853 from Istanbul neared its destination. A passenger had set the plane’s WiFi network name to ‘bomb threat,’” said a spokesperson for the airline.
The Airbus A321 was subsequently escorted by two fighter jets, including one from France.
Authorities later confirmed that no explosives were found and that there was no actual threat.
