A well-known Indonesian actor from the hit television series Preman Pensiun has passed away after reportedly collapsing while hosting a live session on TikTok.
Icuk Nugroho, who was best known for playing the character Saep Copet in the popular sinetron, died on 20 June at the age of 50 after spending several days receiving treatment in hospital.
Reports stated that Icuk suddenly lost consciousness during a TikTok live broadcast before being rushed for emergency medical attention. He was later said to have fallen into a coma while under treatment.
The exact cause of his death has yet to be officially confirmed. However, a close friend, Dihaw Ableh, revealed that information surrounding the incident remains unclear.
“From what I know, he fainted and was taken to hospital. Later, there were reports that he had a heart condition and also suffered a stroke,” Dihaw reportedly said.
The news has shocked many fans of Preman Pensiun, a series that has remained popular among Indonesian audiences for years. The actor’s passing has also sparked an outpouring of condolences on social media from viewers and fellow industry figures.
Icuk’s death adds to the list of Preman Pensiun cast members who have passed away over the years, including Didi Petet, Epy Kusnandar, Firmansyah Pitra and Muhammad Jamasari.
Apart from his memorable role in Preman Pensiun, Icuk also appeared in several other productions such as KNK: Santa Claus dari Jakarta?, Ajojing: Anang – Jojo – Iing, and Orang Dalam.
