“This time, it’s a global band.” HYBE America is set to debut a next-generation pop group in collaboration with Netflix, unveiling the project through an original scripted series.
On January 21, HYBE America announced its partnership with creator Alan Chikin Chow and Netflix to co-produce the series. Chow, a YouTuber behind the popular channel Alan’s Universe, has around 99.2 million subscribers, making him one of the platform’s most influential global creators.
The series will follow aspiring idols at an arts academy as they come together to form a co-ed band. Members of the new pop group will appear in the show, marking the start of their official activities as artists, with new music released within the series itself.
The project draws comparisons to HYBE America’s 2024 debut group, KATSEYE, which quickly gained international recognition and topped major Billboard charts in the U.S. The new group aims to replicate that global success using K-pop-inspired training and production methods.
Alan Chikin Chow described the collaboration as “a groundbreaking project where creative teams from HYBE America and Netflix join forces to launch a new pop group,” promising storytelling filled with “creative inspiration and joy” and urging global audiences to anticipate what’s next.
The Netflix series is scheduled for release at a later date.
