Seahorse Spotted Among Anchovies, Rated “T20 Level” Nasi Lemak

Date:

A high-value seahorse surprisingly “went undercover” among the ingredients of a traditional Malaysian breakfast — appearing alongside fried anchovies in a plate of nasi lemak.

Social media user Daniel Hasri recently shared a photo on Threads showing a tiny seahorse hidden among a pile of fried anchovies. In his post, he wrote, “This kind of nasi lemak is really rare.”

The unusual sight of a seahorse in the fried anchovies sparked a flurry of comments online, with many netizens expressing envy at the poster’s luck, given that seahorses are considered a high-value seafood delicacy. One user even shared a photo from a seafood store in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, showing that a pack of dried seahorses can sell for as much as RM645.

The netizens jokingly rated the seahorse-infused nasi lemak as “T20 level.”
