A man has drawn public ire after openly boasting online about taking hospital diapers for personal use, expressing pride in his actions without any hint of remorse.
Shockingly, this is not a one-time lapse in judgment, but a habit spanning several years. The man revealed that he began taking hospital diapers home when his first child was born, and with his second child now nine months old, he has been using hospital property for nearly four years.

On social media, he even praised the diapers’ quality as “soft and durable”, seemingly trying to justify his long-term appropriation of public resources. Other netizens on platforms like Threads reportedly echoed or even boasted about similar behaviour, normalising the act as acceptable.
The reaction online has been overwhelmingly critical. Many argued that if the taking of diapers were truly accidental, they should have been returned long ago.
One user pointed out that such behaviour causes hospitals to struggle with diaper shortages daily, and restocking is not always easy. “What happens if a newborn needs diapers and none are available?” they asked.
Another remarked, “If it were just an occasional mistake, it could be understandable. But to have two children using them and openly praise their quality is clearly deliberate appropriation.”
Netizens also highlighted that hospital diapers are accounted for daily and have a typical lifespan of about three years. Many of the diapers taken were still within their usable period, creating losses in hospital management and impacting patients’ access to essential supplies.
