A 36-year-old man collapsed shortly after arriving at the Kuching International Airport and was later pronounced dead despite attempts to save him.
According to sources, the incident occurred at around 3pm yesterday after the man had just landed on a flight from Kuala Lumpur. He reportedly fainted suddenly upon reaching the arrival area.
Members of the public quickly stepped in to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) while others contacted the relevant authorities for assistance. Medical personnel arrived shortly afterwards and continued resuscitation efforts at the scene.
The man was then rushed to hospital for emergency treatment. However, he was later confirmed dead.
It is understood that the deceased was an employee of the Lundu District Council and hailed from Miri.
