An 18-year-old teenage boy is believed to have been murdered at a rented house in Lundu early this morning.
Lundu District Police Chief, Superintendent Sudirman Kram, said authorities were alerted to the incident at 7:12am by medical officers at Sarawak General Hospital (HUS).
“The victim was brought to the HUS Emergency Unit unconscious and was pronounced dead upon arrival. Preliminary examination revealed swelling around the left eye and cheek, as well as dried blood around the nose,” he stated today.
Initial investigations indicate that the victim had been attending a social gathering with several colleagues and was believed to have consumed alcohol prior to the incident.
A dispute reportedly broke out between the victim and a housemate, escalating into a physical altercation. The victim reportedly collapsed during the confrontation and was subsequently taken to the hospital by the suspect for treatment.
Police have arrested three men aged between 29 and 33, seizing a four-wheel-drive vehicle and several mobile phones for further investigation. Authorities are also actively searching for another suspect who is believed to have fled after bringing the victim to the hospital.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
