A manager and a female staff member at a Tokyo girls bar were arrested in 2025 for allegedly forcing a colleague to have sex with over 400 men within three months, authorities say.
According to reports from Tokyo Reporter, the 27-year-old victim began working at the bar in September 2024. She was allegedly assaulted by the manager, Maoya Suzuki, who reportedly struck her with a champagne bottle over poor sales. Suzuki has denied charges of pimping out the employee.
The female accomplice, Kazuya Tano, admitted to the charges during the first trial hearing on 10 February 2026. Prosecutors stated that employees with low sales were allegedly told that the designated park was their only source of income and were forced into prostitution.
Alleged Use Of GPS Tracking And Violence
During the trial, prosecutors revealed that the manager and Tano monitored the victim using GPS tracking devices and subjected her to beatings if she failed to solicit customers near the assigned park. After such incidents, the victim was reportedly returned to the bar.
According to Asahi Shimbun, the victim was forced to see up to 13 men a day, earning approximately 1.98 million yen (S$17,022) per month, most of which allegedly went to Suzuki and Tano.
The case came to light after the police questioned the victim in July 2025 over suspicions of violating the anti-prostitution law. The victim reportedly told authorities she was “physically and mentally exhausted” and had no strength to escape. She was found with more than 20 bruises, and investigators believe she had endured regular violence throughout her ordeal.
The trial continues as authorities pursue justice for the victim and investigate the full extent of the alleged exploitation.
