Police Continue Search For Missing Body Parts In Kota Kinabalu Murder Case

Date:

Police investigations into the murder of a woman whose body was dismembered are ongoing, including efforts to locate two remaining body parts that have yet to be recovered.

Acting Kota Kinabalu District Police Chief, Superintendent Syed Lot Syed Ab Rahman, said no new details could be disclosed at this stage as investigations are still at an early phase and not yet fully completed.

“The case remains under investigation and we are unable to reveal all particulars for now.

“The investigation paper will be finalised and submitted to the Attorney-General’s Chambers once all findings have been obtained,” he said after attending the Op Selamat 25/2026 programme at Jalan Pintas here today.

Syed Lot added that the remand period for the three children of the main suspect will depend on current investigative needs and will be carried out in accordance with established procedures.

He also said police are awaiting the full post-mortem report to assist in completing the investigation.

Commenting on the two missing body parts, Syed Lot revealed that the suspect had informed police of the alleged disposal locations.

“We are aware of the locations, however the search is still ongoing and details cannot be disclosed at this time.

“The search operation continues even after more than a week to ensure all crucial evidence is recovered to support further investigation,” he said.

The case shocked residents after several body parts were discovered in rubbish bins and around a row of shoplots in Taman Indah Permai by a garbage truck worker at approximately 6.30am last Thursday.

Following the discovery, police arrested a 71-year-old local man believed to be the main suspect. His three children were later detained to assist in the investigation.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
