An attempted assassination targeted a senior officer of the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (MCBA) in Bukit Kayu Hitam early this morning.
According to sources, two unidentified men on a motorcycle opened fire on Senior Assistant Commissioner Mohd Nasaruddin M. Nasir at around 6.30am while he was in his car on his way to morning prayers. The assailants reportedly fired two shots at his vehicle before fleeing the scene.
Fortunately, Mohd Nasaruddin was unharmed in the attack. Authorities are investigating the incident to determine the motive and identify the suspects.
This marks a rare and serious security incident in the northern border area, raising concerns over targeted attacks on law enforcement personnel.
