Man Discovers Worm In Fried Chicken Bought At Senawang Ramadan Bazaar

Date:

A routine meal turned unpleasant for a man after he discovered a worm inside a piece of fried chicken purchased from a Ramadan bazaar in Senawang.

The man shared the incident on Threads, posting a video that showed a greenish-black striped worm lodged within the chicken. “I’ve experienced it. When will it be your turn? This was yesterday’s breaking fast meal,” he wrote, adding that the food was bought at the bazaar in Taman Matahari Heights.

He later confirmed in the comments section that he had lodged a report with the authorities, attaching a screenshot as proof. In the same post, he commended the Health Ministry for its prompt action, stating: “KKM worked fast, great job!”

According to the screenshot shared, the authorities informed him that an investigation would be conducted and that updates would be provided once inquiries were completed.

The incident has since triggered widespread discussion online. While many expressed disgust over the discovery, others called for stricter hygiene monitoring at Ramadan bazaars to ensure food safety standards are upheld.

Some netizens urged the man to identify the stall involved and take formal action, while others reflected on their own experiences. One user shared that she avoids Ramadan bazaars altogether, preferring to cook at home due to concerns over cleanliness, reheated leftovers, rising prices and smaller portions.

The episode has once again highlighted ongoing public concerns over food hygiene at temporary bazaar sites, particularly during the fasting month when demand for ready-to-eat meals surges.
