Man Found with Seatbelt Around Neck in Malaysia; Suicide Confirmed by Forensics

Date:

A Chinese man was found dead in a car accident, with his body discovered having a seatbelt wrapped around his neck. Authorities are currently investigating the case as a sudden death.

Ahmad Sukarno, head of the Sentul police district, issued a statement saying that the Sentul motorcycle patrol team found the accident involving a Proton X70 near the Kepong-Petaling Jaya elevated U-turn bridge early this morning at around 1:30 am and reported it to the Sentul police headquarters.

“After discovering the victim’s neck entangled with the seatbelt, the Selangor forensic team confirmed at 4:50 am that the death was a suicide and not an accident,” he said.

The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Kepong police station, which dispatched the motorcycle patrol team to the scene. The victim was identified as a 46-year-old Chinese man working as a carpenter.

Medical staff from Serdang Hospital confirmed the man’s death at 5:15 am. The police have classified the case as a sudden death investigation.
