MACC Arrests Pahang Traffic Policeman Over Alleged RM30,000 Bribery Scheme

Date:

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in Pahang has arrested a traffic police officer in the state on suspicion of soliciting and accepting bribes.

According to a source, the suspect, who is in his 30s, is believed to have received approximately RM30,000 in bribes from several individuals and lorry owners in exchange for shielding them from legal action.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the alleged offences were committed in 2024 and 2025, with the bribe payments reportedly deposited into the suspect’s personal bank account.

The officer was detained at about 3.30pm on Monday when he turned up to provide a statement at the MACC office in Temerloh.

He was subsequently taken to the Temerloh Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday to obtain a remand order. Magistrate Nuur Fakhizaa Abu Bakar granted a four-day remand until March 6.

Meanwhile, Pahang MACC director Mohd Shukor Mahmud confirmed the arrest when contacted, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 17(a) of the MACC Act 2009.
