A woman was discovered dead with slash wounds to her neck at a workers’ hostel here on Monday night, prompting a murder investigation.
Nilai district police chief Superintendent Johari Yahya said authorities were alerted to the incident at 11.21pm after a man contacted the MERS 999 emergency line. The caller reported finding a foreign woman, believed to be in her 30s, unconscious and covered in blood on the staircase of the fourth floor of a foreign workers’ hostel.
Responding officers conducted an initial inspection at the scene and found that the victim had sustained severe slash injuries to her neck. She was pronounced dead at the location.
A forensic examination carried out by the Negeri Sembilan police contingent headquarters’ D10 unit revealed multiple slash wounds on the victim’s neck, believed to have been inflicted with a sharp weapon. Investigators are working to establish the sequence of events leading to the fatal attack, as cases of this nature often require meticulous evidence-gathering to determine motive and responsibility.
Johari said the motive remains under investigation, although early statements obtained by police suggest the possibility of personal or financial disputes. The case has been classified under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
Members of the public with information related to the incident have been urged to contact the Nilai district police headquarters at 06-7904222 or the nearest police station to assist in the probe.
