In the early hours of the morning, a lone intruder broke into the home of an elderly woman living alone, prompting a terrifying encounter that was caught on CCTV and has since gone viral on social media.
The footage, shared by the Threads page “komunitijohor” around 6:44pm yesterday, shows the elderly woman lying in a bed in the living room when the intruder entered. Startled, she asked who he was—only to receive a calm, chilling response: “I’m Ali’s friend.”
The incident reportedly took place around 4:30am in Kampung Melayu, Simpang Renggam, in the Kluang district. CCTV footage captured the suspect, a slightly overweight man dressed in a black long-sleeved shirt, jeans, and wearing a cap.
A social media user claiming to know the victim commented that “Ali” is the name of one of the woman’s sons, raising suspicions that the robbery may have involved someone familiar with the family.
Other commenters shared that the victim, affectionately known as “Mak Embun,” has several children but lives alone—adding to the public’s concern and sympathy over her situation.
As of now, Kluang police have yet to release an official statement regarding the case.
