Motorcyclist Burnt to Death After Crashing into Stalled Lorry on North-South Expressway

Date:

A 38-year-old motorcyclist was tragically burnt to death on Wednesday after his vehicle burst into flames following a collision with a stationary lorry. The accident occurred at Kilometer 264.4 of the North-South Expressway (northbound) at approximately 5:30 PM.

Seremban District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Azahar Abdul Rahim, confirmed that the victim was travelling from Johor toward Perak when the incident took place. Preliminary investigations suggest that the victim’s Suzuki motorcycle struck the rear of a Nissan lorry parked in the emergency lane.

The lorry, which was en route from Melaka to Banting, Selangor, had reportedly pulled over due to engine failure. The impact of the collision caused both the motorcycle and the rider to catch fire. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by medical authorities.

The victim’s remains have been transported to the Rembau Hospital Forensic Department for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

The case is currently being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the crash to step forward and assist with the investigation.

Witnesses can contact the investigating officer, Inspector Tiew Chuan Jie, at 014-9668399, or visit the nearest police station.
