A six-tonne lorry overturned on the road shoulder at the 25th kilometre of the Kimanis-Keningau highway early this morning, injuring two men.
Kimanis Fire and Rescue Department chief Nelson said his department received a distress call at 3:10 am and dispatched an eight-member team, arriving at the scene 25 minutes later. The victims, aged 26 and 30, were rescued by passing motorists before firefighters arrived and were taken to hospital for treatment.
Firefighters later confirmed there were no other victims and ensured the scene was safe for traffic before concluding the operation at 4:08 am.
