A group of masked individuals carried out a dramatic break-in at an entertainment centre in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, after reportedly using a lorry to ram through the premises’ gate before storming inside and vandalising property.
The incident, which unfolded on Sunday, was captured on the venue’s closed-circuit television (CCTV) system, with the footage later going viral on social media due to its alarming and movie-like execution.
Kuala Lumpur Police Chief, Fadil Marsus, confirmed that police received a report regarding the incident at around 7.30pm, although initial investigations suggest the attack occurred earlier at approximately 1.30pm the same day.
According to him, the group allegedly used a lorry to forcefully crash through the entrance gate before breaking into the premises and causing extensive damage by smashing various items inside the entertainment centre.
Authorities have classified the case under Section 427 of the Penal Code for mischief and Section 148 for rioting, while investigations are ongoing to determine the motive behind the incident and to identify all suspects involved.
Police are actively tracking down those responsible and have urged members of the public with any relevant information to come forward to assist in the investigation.
Officials are also reviewing CCTV footage that has circulated online in efforts to piece together the identities of the perpetrators and establish a clearer sequence of events.
