No Injuries Reported After AirAsia Cabin Panel Hose Becomes Dislodged

Date:

AirAsia has confirmed that no passengers or crew were injured following an incident involving flight AK720 from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur.

In a statement, the airline said the aircraft landed safely at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 2 at 10.22pm on April 4 after a section of a hose connected to a cabin panel came loose during landing.

The low-cost carrier stressed that the aircraft had undergone all required maintenance checks before departure, including routine 36-hour inspections involving both visual and physical assessments, and had met all safety requirements.

AirAsia added that its engineering team carried out a full inspection after landing to ensure the affected panel was secure and safe for continued operations.

AirAsia Malaysia general manager Datuk Captain Fareh Mazputra said cabin crew responded immediately in line with standard safety procedures, relocating passengers seated beneath the affected area as a precaution.

He added that the aircraft was safely inspected upon arrival and the panel was refitted and secured according to strict maintenance protocols.

The airline also apologised for any inconvenience caused, while reiterating that passenger safety remains its top priority across all operations.
