20-Year-Old Cherry Blossom Tree Uprooted After Woman Climbs It For Photo In Shanghai Park

Date:

A cherry blossom tree in a Shanghai park was uprooted after a woman climbed it in an attempt to take a photograph.

The incident occurred on Monday (April 6) at Gucun Park, where the affected tree is believed to be over 20 years old.

Park authorities later managed to reposition the tree, but officials said its chances of survival remain slim due to significant root damage.

Authorities have since identified the woman involved, who has reportedly expressed her willingness to compensate for the damage caused.
