A 22-year-old private university student has been charged at the Sessions Court in Sepang with three serious offences — attempted murder, rape and unnatural acts — involving a female pilot in an incident that occurred on April 9.
The accused, Mohammad Adam Che Aziz, pleaded not guilty to all charges when they were read before Judge Ahmad Fuad Othman.
According to the first charge, he allegedly attempted to kill the victim at an apartment unit in Horizon Suites, Bandar Sunsuria, Sepang, at around 11am on the day of the incident. The offence falls under Section 307 of the Penal Code, which carries a sentence of up to 10 years’ imprisonment and a fine, or up to 20 years if injury is caused, upon conviction.
For the second charge, the accused is alleged to have raped the victim at the same location and time. The offence is framed under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code, which provides for imprisonment of up to 20 years and caning if found guilty.
The third charge involves committing an offence against the order of nature with the same victim at the same premises. This charge is brought under Section 377C of the Penal Code, carrying a punishment of between five and 20 years’ imprisonment, along with caning, upon conviction.
Following the proceedings, the court fixed May 19 for mention of the case and submission of full medical and chemical reports.
The prosecution, led by Deputy Public Prosecutor Mohamed Wafi Husain, requested that bail not be granted. The accused was unrepresented during the hearing.
Earlier reports stated that the 34-year-old victim was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) after sustaining severe injuries in the attack, which involved a sharp weapon at a short-term rental apartment unit.
