Bank Rakyat Declares 18% Dividend, Highest Payout In 10 Years

The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives has announced that Bank Rakyat will pay an 18 per cent dividend for the financial year ending December 31, 2025, marking its highest payout in 10 years.

Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong said the total dividend payout amounts to RM534.7 million and will benefit 783,324 members. Payments will begin immediately.

He said the strong financial performance reflects the bank’s ability to optimise capital while continuing to reward members and stakeholders for their continued support.

Bank Rakyat recorded a profit before tax and zakat of RM1.9 billion for FY2025, representing a 4.2 per cent increase from RM1.8 billion in the previous year.

The improved performance was driven by a solid underlying business base and a focus on core activities, supported by better domestic economic conditions. However, the group remains cautious amid global economic uncertainty and a challenging banking environment.
