A father and his daughter were injured after a GPS-guided drive allegedly led to a serious collision that caused a pickup truck to overturn and slam into a roadside utility pole in Saraburi province.
The accident occurred on April 19, 2026, along Pichai Ronnarong Songkhram Road, Soi 15, in front of the Lak Muang Shrine in Pak Phriew Subdistrict, Muang District. Police from Muang Saraburi Police Station were alerted and dispatched to the scene for investigation.
At the location, a silver Toyota Vigo pickup truck was found overturned on its side after crashing into a utility pole. The vehicle sustained severe damage, including a detached rear wheel, while brake fluid was seen spilling onto the road surface.
The victims, identified as a 72-year-old man and his 22-year-old daughter, were rushed to Saraburi Hospital by rescue teams for treatment of their injuries.
A black Kia SUV was also found at the scene with extensive front-end damage, including a crushed bonnet, broken bumper, and shattered headlights. The female driver, identified only as Ms Pat, was visibly shaken and remained inside her vehicle after the crash.

According to Ms Pat, she was travelling from Hin Kong Subdistrict to Sao Hai District to buy food when she relied on GPS navigation due to unfamiliarity with the route. She claimed she did not realise she was approaching an intersection and was unable to stop in time before colliding with the pickup truck.
However, the injured driver’s wife gave a different account, stating that the SUV failed to slow down or brake before impact, causing the pickup truck to lose control and overturn.
Police have since documented the scene, collected evidence, and reviewed CCTV footage to determine the exact cause of the crash. Authorities have also instructed municipal workers to apply sawdust on the road due to spilled brake fluid to prevent further accidents.
