Police have uncovered the decomposed body of a man concealed in a canvas bundle along a rocky shoreline at Pulau Angsa last Saturday, in a discovery that has sparked a murder investigation.
According to Kuala Selangor district police chief Superintendent Azaharudin Tajudin, authorities were alerted at approximately 4.50pm after members of the public reported a foul-smelling and suspicious package while fishing in the area. The report prompted immediate deployment of police personnel to the scene.
Initial forensic examinations by Royal Malaysia Police revealed that the bundle contained a badly decomposed body wrapped in canvas and secured with rope. The remains were subsequently transported to the forensic unit at Hospital UiTM Puncak Alam for a post-mortem examination conducted at 9am on Monday.
Findings from the autopsy confirmed that the cause of death was drowning following strangulation, indicating foul play. The case is currently being treated as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code, reflecting the seriousness of the incident.
Authorities have yet to establish the identity of the victim, and investigations remain ongoing. Police are appealing to the public to come forward with any information that may assist in the case, urging individuals to contact the nearest police station or the investigating officer.
