Authorities in Trinidad and Tobago have launched a full-scale investigation following the shocking discovery of approximately 50 infant bodies and six adult remains buried in a mass grave.
Officials confirmed that all 56 bodies were uncovered at a cemetery site in Cumuto towards the end of last week, sparking widespread concern and raising serious questions over handling procedures. The grim find has drawn attention both locally and internationally, highlighting the need for stricter oversight in burial management practices.
According to a spokesperson, five of the adult bodies were found with identification tags attached to their feet, a method commonly used in mortuary settings. This detail has led investigators to believe the remains may have been handled through official channels prior to burial.
