A 13-year-old girl has died after falling from a condominium unit in Tanjung Tokong yesterday evening.
Northeast district police chief Assistant Commissioner Abdul Rozak Muhammad said authorities received a public alert at about 6.45pm after an unconscious teenage girl was discovered on the eighth floor of the condominium building.
Initial investigations found that the victim is believed to have fallen from her residence on the 16th floor at around 5.49pm before landing on the eighth floor. She was confirmed dead at the scene.
Police said checks at the location and examination of the body found no signs of foul play. The case has been classified as sudden death, and a sudden death report has been opened to assist further investigations.
The body has been sent to the forensic department of Penang Hospital for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
