Threads is rolling out a new feature called Live Chats, allowing users to take part in real-time discussions within Community spaces on the platform.
The update is designed to make conversations more interactive, enabling users to talk instantly with others about ongoing events and trending topics as they unfold.

As part of the initial rollout, the NBA Threads Community will use Live Chats to host discussions during NBA playoff games, giving fans a space to follow matches and share reactions in real time.
Meta said the feature will not be limited to sports communities, with plans to expand Live Chats to other Community feeds over the coming months as part of a wider platform enhancement.
The introduction of Live Chats reflects Meta’s ongoing push to boost engagement on Threads, positioning the platform as a more dynamic space for live, topic-driven conversations.
