KPDN Seizes 24,060kg Of Bottled Cooking Oil In Perak Factory Raid

Date:

The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) in Perak has seized 24,060 kilogrammes of bottled cooking oil during an enforcement operation at a food processing and packaging factory in the state.

Perak KPDN director Datuk Kamalludin Ismail said the raid was carried out at about 12pm under Ops Tiris 4.0, where officers discovered controlled goods, specifically 5kg bottled cooking oil stored at the premises.

He said the inspection found that the premises only held a permit to store controlled items, but the stock in possession amounted to 24,060kg, exceeding the approved limit by 1,000kg.

“Following verification, documents related to the case showed that the total value of the seized items was estimated at RM153,660,” he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 21 of the Control of Supplies Act 1961.

Authorities are continuing investigations to determine if there were any breaches involving storage limits and supply control regulations.
