A thunderstorm warning has been issued for several states in Malaysia, with heavy rain and strong winds expected in the following areas until 7:00 PM on Thursday, 14 August 2025:
- Perlis
- Kedah: Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Padang Terap, Sik, Baling, Kulim, Bandar Baharu
- Perak: Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang, Muallim
- Kelantan
- Terengganu: Besut, Setiu, Hulu Terengganu, Marang, Dungun, Kemaman
- Pahang: Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Jerantut, Bentong, Temerloh, Maran, Kuantan, Bera, Pekan
- Selangor: Hulu Selangor, Gombak, Petaling, Hulu Langat
- Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur
- Negeri Sembilan: Jelebu, Seremban, Kuala Pilah, Jempol
- Sabah: Interior (Kuala Penyu), Sandakan (Telupid, Kinabatangan, Beluran, Sandakan), Kudat (Kota Marudu, Pitas)
- Federal Territory of Labuan
The warning is issued when signs indicate thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20 mm/hour, either imminent or expected to last more than an hour. Each thunderstorm warning is valid for a short period, not exceeding six hours per issuance.
The alert was officially issued at 4:20 PM on 14 August 2025. Residents in the affected areas are advised to stay indoors, avoid open spaces, and take necessary precautions against heavy rain and strong winds.
