Delivery Rider Found Dead After Resting Under Pavilion

Date:

A 30-year-old pork delivery rider was found dead after he stopped to rest under a village pavilion in Chonburi, with villagers initially mistaking him for being asleep as he had been snoring for hours before suddenly falling silent.

The incident occurred on April 27, 2026, at a pavilion in Moo 5, Ban Suan Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chonburi. Police Lieutenant Boonsita Hasin, Deputy Investigator at Mueang Chonburi Police Station, was alerted to the scene and responded together with rescue workers from the Tri Khun Tham Foundation.

At the location, authorities found the man seated upright with his head tilted back and mouth open. He was later confirmed dead, with no visible injuries or signs of physical assault. A motorcycle was parked nearby, fitted with delivery equipment, including a metal stand and a basket used for transporting goods.

Villagers told authorities that the man had parked his motorcycle and rested at the pavilion after work. They initially heard him snoring and assumed he was simply exhausted. However, after several hours of no movement or response, concern grew and they eventually discovered he was not breathing.

In a startling moment during the rescue response, the man’s mobile phone rang, and emergency personnel answered the call to inform the caller that the owner had died. The news reportedly left family members in shock.

It was later understood that the deceased had been working alone in Chonburi, while his relatives lived in Buriram. Family members are now preparing to travel to claim the body and conduct funeral arrangements.

Police have sent the body for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death, while further investigations are ongoing.
