Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has stated that the government respects the decisions of former Economic Minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli and former Minister of Natural Resources and Sustainable Environment Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad to resign from their ministerial posts based on their personal principles. He expressed confidence that both will continue to actively serve the nation in their capacities as Members of Parliament.
“The government respects their decision and trusts that both will continue to contribute to the nation’s progress and the welfare of the people as MPs,” Anwar said in a written response yesterday to a question from PAS MP for Rantau, Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim.
Anwar emphasized that despite the resignations, the Pakatan Harapan government remains stable, supported firmly by all member parties. He added that the close cooperation and mutual respect among these parties form the foundation of continuity in national governance and are key to advancing the reform agenda.
