Concerns have been raised after a video surfaced showing airport staff allegedly handling unclaimed luggage in a rough manner at Changi Airport Terminal 2.
The footage, shared on TikTok by user @ericyzh1, was recorded on April 23 at around 5.15pm at Belt 31 in the terminal. It appears to show several airport workers moving multiple bags and packages towards a conveyor system.
In the video, the staff can be seen pushing luggage forward before tossing several bags and parcels onto the moving belt. At least 12 items were visibly thrown, though the total number involved is believed to be higher.
Speaking to media outlet MS News, the 40-year-old user said he recorded the incident while waiting to pick up his wife returning from a trip to Malaysia. He said he was surprised by what he witnessed, noting that he did not expect such handling at the airport.
“I couldn’t believe my eyes seeing this happen at the world’s best airport,” he said, expressing shock over the situation.
The user also pointed out that other uniformed airport personnel were present during the incident but did not appear to intervene or react at the time.
The video has since sparked discussion online about baggage handling standards and customer service practices at one of the world’s busiest airports.
