The body of a young woman was discovered lying in a pool of blood on a ರಸ್ತೆ in Kampung Kubang Kiat, Ketereh, near Kota Bharu, in the early hours of the morning.
The victim, believed to be in her 20s, was found by members of the public at around 12.30am. Initial observations indicated she had sustained multiple injuries, with stab wounds suspected on her abdomen, back, and face. The incident has raised concerns over safety in quieter residential areas, especially during late-night hours.
At first, passers-by reportedly thought the woman was asleep on the road, but closer inspection revealed she had already died. Authorities were immediately alerted, and police arrived at the scene shortly after.
The body has since been sent to the Forensic Unit at Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II for a post-mortem examination and to assist in identifying the victim’s next of kin.
Efforts are ongoing to gather further details surrounding the case. Police are also working to determine the circumstances leading to the incident, as well as to locate any potential witnesses or suspects.
Attempts to contact Kota Bharu District Police Chief Mohd Azmir Damiri for additional information are still underway.
