A Labour Day morning cycling outing turned tragic after a 56-year-old Chinese cyclist was killed in a suspected hit-and-run incident along the BDC to Saradise road in Kuching, Sarawak.
The victim, described as an avid cycling enthusiast, was believed to have been riding with a group of friends when the accident occurred. He was reportedly struck by a vehicle and thrown off his bicycle, suffering severe injuries at the scene.
According to initial information, his companions rushed to the location shortly after the incident and found him lying on the road. They immediately contacted emergency medical services for assistance.
Paramedics from the Central Hospital arrived promptly and conducted an assessment, but the cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities believe the case involves a hit-and-run, and police have since launched an investigation to identify the driver responsible.
