Husband And Wife Killed Each Other Due To Husband’s Jealousy Over Wife’s Social Media Attention

Date:

A married couple were found dead inside their home in Tak province, Thailand, in a suspected murder-suicide case linked to jealousy over social media use.

Police said they received a report at around 11am on April 30, 2026, of a violent incident at a house in Ban Chong Khaep, Phop Phra district, near the Thai-Myanmar border.

Officers arriving at the scene discovered the body of a 31-year-old Myanmar woman lying face down in the kitchen with a severe neck wound, nearly severing her throat. A blood-stained machete was found nearby.

In another part of the house, the body of her 41-year-old husband was found with multiple stab wounds to the chest, close to the heart area. He was also confirmed to be a Myanmar national working as an agricultural labourer.

Investigators believe the couple had been involved in ongoing domestic disputes, reportedly centred on the husband’s objections to his wife using social media due to jealousy over her appearance and online attention.

Authorities said the argument escalated on the day of the incident, leading to a violent confrontation inside the kitchen.

Based on initial findings, police suspect a struggle broke out, during which both parties used sharp objects in an attempt to defend themselves, resulting in fatal injuries to both individuals.

The case is currently being treated as a domestic violence incident, and investigations are ongoing to establish the exact sequence of events leading to the deaths.
