A Grab driver in Singapore has been suspended after a passenger alleged that he was watching adult content on a mobile phone while driving, raising serious road safety concerns.
The incident reportedly took place during an evening ride booked through the ride-hailing platform. The passenger, who shared the footage on social media, said the driver appeared distracted throughout the journey, frequently losing focus on the road.
According to the account, the passenger noticed unusual movements from the driver and later discovered that he was allegedly using a second mobile phone placed near his lap while operating the vehicle.
The passenger further claimed that the screen displayed adult content while the car was in motion, with the driver’s attention repeatedly shifting away from the road, causing the vehicle to drift within its lane.
The situation prompted the passenger to record video evidence during the trip. Despite the alarming behaviour, the journey reportedly ended without any accident or injury.
In response, Grab confirmed that it takes safety violations seriously and has since suspended the driver’s account pending further investigation into the incident.
The company reiterated that passenger safety remains its top priority and said appropriate action would be taken based on the findings of the ongoing probe.
