A 19-year-old woman found dead with 61 stab wounds near a paddy field in Kampung Simah, Ketereh, has been identified as a student from a local college.
Kelantan Police Chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat confirmed that the victim was in her third semester at the institution. He said police are actively tracking down the suspect or suspects involved in the killing.
Speaking to Bernama on Friday night, Mohd Yusoff added that the motive behind the murder remains under investigation.
The victim’s body was discovered along a road near the paddy field late Thursday night. Preliminary investigations suggest that she may have been killed at a different location before her body was dumped at the scene.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, with authorities urging anyone with information to come forward.
