A 28-year-old woman arrested for possessing a knife during the Rain Rave Water Music Festival 2026 will be sent to Hospital Bahagia for psychiatric assessment after being suspected of having mental health issues.
Dang Wangi district police chief ACP Sazalee Adam said the decision was made after the suspect was charged in court today under Section 6(1) of the Corrosive, Explosive and Dangerous Weapons Act 1958.
He said the court ordered the woman to undergo further psychiatric evaluation at Hospital Bahagia following concerns over her mental condition.
The suspect is currently being held at the Kajang Women’s Prison under remand.
Police said the case has been fixed for mention again on June 4.
Earlier, authorities confirmed the arrest of the local woman after she was found in possession of a knife at the three-day music festival.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus had previously said several other suspicious individuals were also detained as part of preventive security measures to ensure safety at the event.
