Unidentified Man Killed After Motorcycle Crash In Beluran

An unidentified man was found dead by the roadside after he was believed to have been thrown from his motorcycle in an accident at Kilometre 85, Jalan Sapi Nangoh-Botition, on Sunday.

The victim, believed to be in his 20s, was discovered by members of the public. A video showing the discovery later went viral on social media.

Beluran District Police Chief, Hasan Majid, said police received a report regarding the viral video at about 9.45am.

He said preliminary investigations found that the incident involved a single-vehicle accident in which the motorcycle is believed to have skidded off the road while travelling at high speed.

“As a result of the accident, the victim was thrown from the motorcycle and found unconscious by the roadside before medical personnel from Nangoh Health Clinic confirmed his death,” he said in a statement.

Further examinations revealed that the victim suffered severe injuries to several parts of his body, including serious facial injuries, as well as fractures to his nose and leg.

“The injuries were confirmed by medical officers from Beluran Hospital. Checks also found that the victim did not possess any identification documents and he is suspected to be a foreign national,” he added.

Hasan urged anyone who witnessed the incident or has information related to the case to contact investigating officer Inspector Alpius @ Nickee at 019-8707626 to assist investigations.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
