Motorcyclist Dies After Being Trapped Beneath Excavator

A motorcyclist was killed after his motorcycle crashed into an excavator before becoming trapped beneath the heavy machinery in Shah Alam late last night.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Operations Assistant Director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said authorities received an emergency call at 12.06am.

He said the accident occurred along the route from Shah Alam heading towards the sugar factory traffic light junction near Management and Science University (MSU).

“The incident involved a Yamaha Y15 motorcycle colliding with an excavator.

“The victim, a 20-year-old male motorcyclist, was trapped underneath the excavator,” he said in a statement today.

Ahmad Mukhlis said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Health Ministry personnel.

Firefighters later extricated the victim before handing the body over to police for further action.

The operation involved five personnel from the Shah Alam Fire and Rescue Station together with a Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) Sitrak vehicle.
