Rescue Ops Underway As Driver Trapped In Mud After Lorry Overturns

Date:

A lorry driver is feared trapped under mud after a single-vehicle accident involving a soil-laden lorry along Jalan Batang Lupar–Sadong in Sebuyau earlier this morning.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said it received an emergency call at 7.06am before dispatching firefighters from the Asajaya fire station to the scene.

Upon arrival, responders found that the lorry carrying soil had overturned, causing the driver to be trapped beneath and surrounded by thick mud.

Firefighters are currently conducting rescue operations, but efforts to reach the victim are being hampered by the difficult conditions inside the mud-filled vehicle.

Authorities said additional equipment, including a crane, is being brought in to help remove the lorry and facilitate the rescue operation.

The operation is still ongoing as rescue teams work to extricate the trapped driver.
