Woman Run Over By Her Own Car While Checking Battery In Shocking CCTV Incident

Date:

A woman in Comodoro Rivadavia narrowly escaped death after being run over by her own car in a horrifying accident captured on CCTV.

The incident reportedly happened at around 1.10pm on May 19 at the intersection of Roca Avenue and Canadá Street.

Dramatic security footage showed the woman, identified as Yessica and believed to be in her 30s, opening the bonnet of her black Renault Clio to inspect the vehicle’s battery.

Moments later, the car suddenly lurched forward and knocked her to the ground before rolling directly over her body.

The footage showed one of the vehicle’s wheels passing over her chest while she remained trapped beneath the moving car.

Witnesses immediately contacted emergency services after seeing the woman lying injured and bleeding on the road.

Police and medical teams rushed to the scene before she was transported to hospital for treatment.

Despite the terrifying incident, doctors later confirmed that the woman did not suffer any fractures or life-threatening injuries.

According to witness statements provided to police, Yessica had reportedly been reconnecting battery cables when the car suddenly moved forward as the cables made contact.

Authorities have since seized the vehicle as part of an ongoing investigation.

Police are expected to inspect the car’s braking and transmission systems to determine whether the incident was caused by a mechanical failure or possible human error, including whether the handbrake had been properly engaged.

The shocking footage quickly spread online, with many social media users expressing relief that the woman survived the bizarre accident.

Some netizens also speculated that the handbrake may not have been applied before the woman began working under the bonnet.
