Kuala Muda district police chief Assistant Commissioner Hanyan Ramlan said the two suspects, aged 38 and 18, are believed to be linked to the incident as well as the sale of children’s balloons at the expo site.
He said the duo were also believed to have been mixing chemical substances at the location.
“They are suspected to have been preparing chemical mixtures,” he said.
One of the suspects has been remanded for four days, while the other was granted a one-day remand order.
The case is being investigated under Section 304A of the Penal Code for causing death by negligence.
In the incident, one man was killed while three others were injured after a gas cylinder suddenly exploded.
Victim Azmi Ahmad, 42, a drink seller, died from severe injuries to his right arm and chest, while three others aged 15, 36 and 49 sustained injuries to various parts of the body.
