Drunken Argument Believed To Have Led To Murder Under MRT Bridge In Kepong

Date:

Police believe a misunderstanding during a drinking session led to the murder of a Myanmar national beneath the MRT Putrajaya Line bridge near Metro Prima in Kepong on Sunday.

According to Jasni Zolpa, authorities received a public call at around 1.40pm reporting that a 39-year-old man had been found unconscious at the scene.

Following the report, a police team from the Criminal Investigation Division of the Sentul District Police Headquarters launched an operation around the Kepong area at approximately 12.30pm on Monday.

During the operation, police arrested two men and one woman, all Myanmar nationals aged between 30 and 40, to assist with investigations.

Initial investigations revealed that the incident is believed to have started after a dispute broke out between the victim and the suspects while they were allegedly intoxicated.

Police said the argument later escalated into a fight that resulted in the victim’s death.

All three suspects have been remanded for seven days, from Tuesday until Monday, to assist investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

Authorities said investigations into the case are still ongoing.
