Cars Left On Blocks After Wheel Theft Spree Outside College Compound

Date:

A group of criminals targeted Perodua car tyres and rims parked outside a nursing college here, removing and stealing them during the night and early morning hours.

Kuala Pilah District Police Chief, Superintendent Muhamad Mustafah Hussin, said the incidents occurred on May 15 and May 18, involving two separate vehicles.

“Police are investigating several cases of vehicle component theft involving cars parked outside the Kuala Pilah Nursing College area,” he said.

He added that the first report was received on May 18 regarding missing rims and tyres from two cars parked outside the college compound.

The area is reportedly dark and quiet at night due to the absence of street lighting and CCTV surveillance.

One of the cases involved a Perodua Bezza, where the owner discovered all four wheels were missing at about 7am on May 18 after being informed via WhatsApp.

Investigations also found that another vehicle, a Perodua Axia SE parked at the same location, had also lost all four tyres and rims.

The owner said the vehicle had been securely locked and intact at about 7.45pm on May 15 before discovering the theft days later.

The case is being investigated under Section 379A(1) of the Penal Code for vehicle component theft.

Police estimate losses from both cases at around RM2,000 and are actively tracking down those involved.

Members of the public with information are urged to assist investigations by contacting the Kuala Pilah District Police Headquarters or investigating officer Sergeant Shamsuldalila Mohammad at 011-10129038.
