Man Caught With 390 Epam Pills Worth RM5,400 Claims Drugs Were Bought On Lazada

Date:

A 26-year-old man arrested by the General Operations Force (PGA) after allegedly being caught with 390 epam pills claimed the drugs were purchased through online shopping platform Lazada.

The suspect was detained during a raid carried out by the PGA near a house in Kampung Kedai Geting, Pengkalan Kubor, at around 6.40pm yesterday.

Southeast Brigade PGA commander Ahmad Radzi Hussain said the operation was conducted by Battalion 7 under Op Taring Wawasan.

“Checks on the suspect uncovered 390 pills believed to be epam drugs hidden inside the back pocket of his trousers,” he said in a statement today.

According to Ahmad Radzi, the suspect claimed the drug supply was bought online through Lazada at a price of RM40 per strip.

The man also allegedly told authorities that the drugs were meant for his own personal use.

Further checks revealed that the suspect has two previous criminal records, including cases related to drugs.

The seized items and suspect have since been handed over to the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division of the Tumpat District Police Headquarters for further action.

Authorities estimated the value of the seized drugs at RM5,400, with the case now being investigated under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
