Five local men have been arrested in connection with a physical altercation that broke out near a residential flat in Port Klang.
South Klang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Lim Jit Huey said the incident came to light after police detected a video of the fight circulating on social media showing the confrontation near Flat Perantau.
He said a police report regarding the incident was lodged on Saturday (May 30), prompting immediate investigation.
Acting on gathered intelligence, police later detained five local men aged between 18 and 47, believed to be involved in the brawl.
In a broader public safety context, authorities have repeatedly cautioned that viral footage of street violence can often lead to public concern and misinformation if shared without verification.
All five suspects have since been remanded for four days until Wednesday to assist investigations.
The case is being probed under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting with weapons.
Police have also urged the public not to spread unverified information on social media, warning that such actions could interfere with ongoing investigations and public order.
