Two Killed, One Injured After Perodua Myvi And Proton Saga Collide In Kuala Ketil

Two people were killed while another was injured in a collision involving two cars at Kampung Batu Tujuh, Binjoi, Kuala Ketil, early Tuesday morning.

The victims who lost their lives were the drivers of a Perodua Myvi and a Proton Saga, both believed to be in their 20s.

Baling Fire and Rescue Station chief Zulkhairi Mat Tanjil said emergency services received a distress call regarding the accident at approximately 6.22am.

A team from the Baling Fire and Rescue Station, led by Senior Fire Officer Mohd Najmi Zainol and assisted by six personnel, was immediately dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that the crash involved two vehicles and both drivers had already succumbed to their injuries.

The female driver of the Perodua Myvi, believed to be in her 20s, was removed from her vehicle with the assistance of members of the public.

Meanwhile, the male driver of the Proton Saga was trapped inside the wreckage and had to be extricated by firefighters using special rescue equipment.

The rescue operation took approximately 20 minutes before the victim could be removed from the severely damaged vehicle.

A male passenger travelling in the Proton Saga, also believed to be in his 20s, sustained injuries in the crash and was rushed to hospital for further treatment.

Health Ministry personnel at the scene confirmed the deaths of both drivers.

The bodies of the deceased were later handed over to the police for further investigation and follow-up procedures.

Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the crash, and investigations are ongoing.
