China and Brazil have pledged to strengthen cooperation and work together to address growing global uncertainties, following high-level talks between their foreign ministers in Beijing.

During a meeting on Monday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi told Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira that both countries should join forces to confront external challenges and contribute greater stability to the international community.

According to a statement released by China’s Foreign Ministry, Wang stressed the importance of deeper collaboration between the two major emerging economies amid an increasingly complex global landscape.

He said China and Brazil should work together to bring “greater and much-needed certainty” to international affairs while strengthening cooperation across multiple sectors.

Wang also called for both nations to make greater use of multilateral platforms, including the United Nations and BRICS, to promote what he described as a more just and equitable system of global governance.

The discussions reportedly covered a broad range of international and bilateral issues, with both sides exchanging views on global developments and future cooperation.

According to the official Chinese summary of the meeting, the talks resulted in “broad consensus” on a number of key issues.

China and Brazil have strengthened political and economic ties in recent years, with both countries playing increasingly influential roles within BRICS and other international forums.

The latest meeting highlights efforts by Beijing and Brasília to deepen strategic cooperation as geopolitical tensions and economic uncertainties continue to shape the global landscape.
