Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim, has advised the newly appointed Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Abdul Halim Aman to carry out his duties with full integrity.
In a broader context, the royal institution continues to emphasise the importance of good governance and accountability as key pillars in strengthening public trust in national institutions.
According to a Facebook post by Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, His Majesty stressed that efforts to combat corruption must be carried out continuously, firmly and without favouritism to safeguard integrity and the rule of law.
The advice was conveyed when the King granted an audience to Abdul Halim at Istana Negara today.
On April 25, His Majesty consented to Abdul Halim’s appointment as MACC Chief Commissioner, which took effect on May 13, replacing Tan Sri Azam Baki.
Abdul Halim, a former High Court judge, now leads the commission responsible for tackling corruption in the country.
